Kurikinton

Dessert

Kurikinton has a golden color. So it means raising money luck.

Ingredients

  • Candied Chestnuts          10 pieces
  • Sweet Potato                  300 g
  • Kuchinashi Seeds            2 pieces 
  • Sugar                            120 g
  • Lemon Juice                   1.5 Tbs

Preparation

Slice sweet potatoes into 1cm thick round, peeling them thickly.

Note!

Don’t hesitate to peel thickly, otherwise, it may leave fibers and the color will be poor.

Cooking

  1. Sweet potatoes put in a pot, add enough water to cover them.

         Cut Kuchinashi seeds in half, add them, and boil over medium heat until soft.

   2.  Puree the sweet potatoes while still hot.   

  1. Add sugar and mix lightly and add candied chestnuts and mix gently.
  2. When the bottom of the pot start to show the mark of the wooden spatula, add lemon juice, knead until glossy, then trnsfer to a bowl and let it cool.
